22m Ice Breaking Pilot Boat for Laurentian Pilot Authority (LPA) Quebec Canada

This vessel has been designed to carry out Pilotage services up to 30 nautical miles offshore at the mouth of the St. Lawrence River and  Gulf during winter operations . It will be propelled by 2 – Caterpillar C-32 marine diesel engines rated at 950 BHP @ 1600 RPM , close coupled to a pair of ZF 3050 gearboxes .

Classed to Lloyds Register under Ice Class 1D notation, the vessel will encounter the worst ice that is experienced in the region being up to 1 meter of rafted ice over an average of 1500 hours per year.

The vessel will be built predominately as a “day use” vessel for a compliment of up to 10 persons including crew.
